Tyrell Saint-Vil
Groom
If you ask Ty how we met, he may talk about a Stamp party back in 2013. (insert picture). But if you ask Justine, she may talk about their first date in 2020 at the Washington Monument (insert picture). In truth, both of their stories, with every quirk and detail, led them to this point in life.

Ty Side:

While it’s true we did meet at a Stamp party in 2013, our connection was further strengthened through our love to support Caribbean culture on campus (if you know, you know). After having been separated for several years by 2020, I would occasionally think fondly of her and jump at opportunities to see her. Most notably I remember offering to fix a flat tire after she told a group of mutual friends she couldn’t make it to a reunion. I wouldn’t get the chance to see her again since 2014 until September 2020 when she commented on a story. From there, we chatted, we laughed, and played all sorts of games through the phone. For me, the connection was so strong that I knew I couldn’t disappoint on a first date or any date after that. With each date, we grew closer and more vulnerable. From wreath making to glass blowing, we liked to lean in to trying things out together for the first time. With that in mind it was only natural that in 2025 I proposed on our first trip to Europe, somewhere we talked of going to early on in our relationship.

For me, Justine is irreplaceable as my partner and has been a cornerstone in my life for many years. I have found a wife in her and am excited to continue our journey together. My only wish to my friends and family is to bare witness and cheer us on!

Justine’s Side:

Okay, so to set the scene, it's 2020, and it was already an interesting year, but now I’m on a three-hour-long FaceTime catching up with Ty. That call led to such a cool first date, second, third … dates. On one of those dates, I was talking to Ty about traveling, and honestly, I want to go everywhere. I said I wanted to visit Iceland one day. He looked at me and said, " Let's go, let's book flights now and go.” I thought that was so crazy cause honestly, I still don’t know you. But we booked our flights and had our first international trip together six months in.

To me, that experience and writing this “Our Story” was more about finding someone who gets you. Who amplifies the good in my life in our lives. Like yeah, I can do anything, but having the support and love to know it will all work out.Not too much on the mushy, we have had fun these past few years. We have traveled to Jamaica, Turks, St. Martin, St. Barts, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, California, Louisiana, Arizona, and New York, the list goes on. Ty has been present for so many beautiful moments, my granny’s 80th birthday, I got my Master's, my little sister's prom/high school graduation, I got a cat, lol. I am super excited to see the many beautiful moments that await us.

Thank you all for reading and being a part of our story! We're getting married
